It is so great when friendly folks stop by when Terri and I are signing our books just to say hello. Sometimes those people are writers, students wondering about their own writing skills, or readers who have nice things to say about our work. That happened a lot during our very successful signing tour in August. Meeting our following is truly great. Thanks for stopping to say hello.
During August, we finally got to South Florida and had good signings at three Waldenbook stores and a friendly independent in Del Ray Beach, Murder on the Beach. Frankly, its a tiring and time-consuming venture to set up and attend autographing sessions, but a very necessary part of attempting to become better known across the country. Without the financial and communications advantages of being published by a large press, Terri and I need to do the footwork ourselves. Its always fun when we are actually doing it. Don't you know that Steven Spielberg will find us one day and demand to take an option on our book!!!!! Yes, I am an optimist.
As you will see if you have a few minutes to glance at our signing schedule, we are expanding our range as our marketing plan requires. We hope that Hurricane Ivan doesn't interfere with any of your lives and wish a speedy recovery for all of you who experienced Charlie and/or Frances. Those were mean-hearted fellows.
