July was a very good month for Immoral Symphony and our signings. I have updated our signing schedule and hope you have a minute to look at it. We owe special thanks to Russell and Edie Henley at Paperbacks in Paradise for their great support to our successful signing at their shop. As we toured Alabama and Georgia, the booksellers at Barnes and Noble and Borders, and at Hurlburt Field, and Eglin and Maxwell AFBs were so very kind to us. Thanks to all of them.
Due to the bankruptcy of our first publisher, things had slowed down for us about six weeks ago. Some distributors would not handle our book and it wasn't good. But we perservered, varied the stores we did business with, and continued to do signings. It has paid off. People are ordering our book at out of the way places. The distributors have begun to restock our book well for new orders and book chain stores that we hadn't been able to work with have now accepted us. Maybe its luck. Maybe its magic. Maybe its hard work, but the bottom line is that we feel that our name and title are being recognized. We are very pleased. So if you tried to order our book and couldn't--try again. All is well.
In a week or ten days, Immoral Symphony will be available under the imprint of our new publisher, JADA Press, a subsidiary of Marglen Publications. We will be stocked at more distributors and ordering at any bookstore will be easier.
Terri and I have been asked to present a three-day writer's retreat in Cedar Key Florida during November. The setting is wonderful to relax and enjoy the peace and good weather. As the event is fully planned, we will keep you informed and perhaps you will find time to pamper your soul. We are also planning to give presentations at several colleges in the Florida area to tempt "Writing Majors" with the uniqueness of our approach to writing fiction. We are feeling good about all of this.
