July is here much sooner than many of us expected it. Remember how being out of school for the summer seemed like a lifetime? Me too.
This will be a very busy month for Terri and me. Our novel, Immoral Symphony, publication date has slipped slightly into July, but is in the final stages of production. We expect to be reviewing the galleys shortly. The galley is a paper copy of the book just as it will appear in publication. The idea is to make a final quality check on the entire process and give our approval.
You have responded so well to the pre-publication order opportunity and we both thank you for your support. Our publisher is impressed with the volume and that always helps. In addition, we have secured three pre-publication reviews which hopefully will be good reviews.
The first shipment of books in the first printing will be the books of those of you who pre-ordered. They will be shipped to us for autographing and then we will mail them to you as quickly as we can.
We will be attending a writer's conference at the University of Georgia this month and Terri will be making her second college presentation since she became an author. On the last day of the conference, attendees may obtain autographs of the author-presenters. These signings are especially gratifying because they allow us to talk directly with some of our readers. Getting feedback from readers is what it's all about. Without you, there would be no best selling authors, no book sales, and no reason to write. We can never say thank you to our readers often enough.
We hope that the July holiday brings you an opportunity for family and friends to celebrate our independence and freedom. At a time like this, when as a nation we must walk a difficult line between our individual freedom and security from terrorism, our liberty reigns as our most precious gift. Let's all keep our service men and women in our minds and prayers and hope that they will soon be safe from harm. We owe them a great deal.
